The first time I ate at a Waffle House I was impressed. I was on vacation at the time. My family and I walked into the place and I think every employee in there immediately, one by one, said "Good Morning" or some other greeting. I guess it's their trademark. I liked that.
The place was pretty basic, nothing fancy. The breakfast food was good. But the greeting was what I remember most fondly. That's a part of good customer service, in my opinion.
Now every time I eat at a Waffle House, I feel like I'm on vacation, just a little.
